Fun Fact #009 - From a certain point of view
When a spaceship breaks the light barrier, time will become relative to the clocks on planets, space stations, and on the spaceship itself.
As the speed of light is constant for all parties, it would seem as if time would be moving much slower on the ship.
Hypothetically, as one gets closer to a singularity, time would appear to be traveling normally, but for observers on the outside, many years would have passed.
It is said that the gravitational field of a singularity right next to the event horizon is so powerful that every hour spent around the event horizon would be equal to a thousand years for everyone else.
Once the event horizon has been crossed the effect on the fabric of time is so strong that billions of years could pass in just a few minutes.
But, of course, all that is just a theory; for now.
