Fun Fact #005 - Stars in the sand

There are more stars in the universe than than grains of sand on Earth's beaches.

The universe extends far beyond the Milky Way galaxy.

Scientists estimate the universe contains approximately 1.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000 stars, or one septillion.

While no one can actually count every single grain of sand on Earth, good luck trying, the estimated total from researchers at the University of Hawaii, is somewhere around seven quintillion grains.

Perhaps I'll upload more fun facts, if I feel like it.
